anyway this came in... thought some of you might be interested :P

Students who desire to take S paper, will have to sit for a selection test as
follows:

Date: Fri 17 Oct
Time: 10 - 11 am
Format: Essay (can be from any topic)
Venue: will be informed later

After we've finished tutorials on Labour theory, pls bring the MCQs revision
paper so that we can discuss them in class. I hope that the essay discussion &
sample essays which I've given you will be helpful tips on essay writing skills.
Basically to do well in essay (50% weightage): Econs content & theory must be
sound & relevant. Next, will be organization with intro, devt & conclusion. I
must emphasize the need for relevance & do avoid memorizing model essays as u
tend to write "out of point".

4. We will be discussing Essay Questions. Attached is the schedule of TYS
questions we will be discussing in Term 4 lectures.

Only MCQs will be tested for topic on National Income Accounting.

The Exam Format for Promos:

Paper 3: Essay: 4 Qns choose 2
Paper 1: MCQ: 30 Qns
Paper 2: 1 DRQ

cruella wants to have make up lessons with us during the sept hols. here's her suggested schedule:

11 Sept (Thu)

Venue: preferably classroom A307


Attendence is compulsory & will be marked.

Pls bring revision package & TYS. You are expected to have tried the following tasks before lesson:

(1) DRQ on Labour Theory : TYS pp279 N2001, TYS June 1994 & Nov 1992

(2) Revision Task 1: MCQs Common Test III 2000, Block Test I 2001 & Block Test II 2001

(3) It will only be meaningful for me to go through the questions with you after you've tried them. Also, for essay, I'll go through answer outline for Timed
assignment Term 3. I welcome any suggestions from you abt the conduct of this revision programme. Hope it would put you all in good state & confidence for the coming Promos!
